Once Upon A Time In... will take our viewers on an enchanting expedition, bridging the gap between past and present, as we uncover the rich tapestry of narratives that have shaped these remarkable places.
Moreover, our commitment to the 16-25 year old demographic is at the
core of our show. By featuring relatable young travellers and exploring
their personal journeys, we aim to inspire and empower our audience to
embark on their own adventures. We will delve into topics that resonate
with young people, such as sustainable travel, local communities, and
cultural immersion, fostering a sense of responsibility and
understanding of the world around us.
Product 2: Website
As with the television show, the website's target audience is middle-market, aspirational 16-25 year olds. In order to align with our target audience, the website must stay engaging and utilise modern technology to challenge similar websites for our audiences.
In order to maintain an audience of 16-25 year olds, the website must offer links back to Channel 5 and other similar products. Links to social media also provide examples of cross-media convergence, keeping audiences stimulated with frequent new content on multiple sites that they may use on a daily basis. The website is a key method of exploring the level of representation that goes into producing the show, so we provide a short profile on our behind-the-scenes crew, including a portfolio of previous works they have worked on. The website must also constantly remind viewers that this is a subsidiary product of Channel 5: we achieve this by placing an abundance of logos across the site that link back to the Channel 5 website.
Every detail, ranging from the pre-show ident right down to the subtle inclusions of the logo here and there, contributes to the overall conclusion that this is a Channel 5 production. This links both the show and the website together, alongside the continuous crossover of content between both products, such as stills from certain shots or a blooper reel dedicated to one specific segment. Links to social media pages also enhance the cross-media convergence and help to expand the reach that the show has overall. But the best way of demonstrating the digitally convergent nature of my website would be through the ability to watch the first 3 minutes of episode one on the website.
